The SK7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and chimpanzee CD3e, a 20kDa subunit of the TCR complex. Along with the other CD3 subunits gammaand delta, the epsilon chain is required for proper assembly,trafficking and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressedby thymocytes in a developmentally regulated manner and by all mature Tcells. The SK7 and UCHT1 monoclonal antibodies cross-block binding,suggesting recognition of overlapping epitopes.
